Tactica Furioso
TheAngelR
Tactica Furioso These Dread's are unique to BA and it's successors. A massive beast. Are they actually worth it? Yes. They can totally rip apart a tank better than a Carnifix and are more suited to fighting in CC than ordinary dread's. But make no mistake, these Dread's are very, very hard to use well. More harder than the standard dread. You have to advance it forward, and keep it out of enemy firepower. Very tough. Deploying them: Put it in cover. Never, never, never, never, never put it out in the open, unless it can assault that turn for sure. Most non-Marine players consider dread's as a "soft" target and let's be honest, they are. With a standard dread you can shoot and afford to leave out of cover for a bit. A furioso cannot do this. Any anti-tank firepower will leave the dread in flames. So keep them in cover. Using them: If your Furioso is always in cover and hull-down, you are doing well. I tend to use them as a flank attacker, where usually the enemy is weakest. Support it with something like Terminators and you have a powerful flank attack. In assault if gets in, you won't find much that will stand up to it! Even Chaos Dreads(the next best thing to our dreads) won't last long. At S10/11(depending on how you play) with 4 attacks it will rip apart them. However don't waste your charging on units like Orks or Eldar, you are much better off to shoot them. Most swarm armies are not worth charging with a dread, since your dread cannot kill that many in one go. Against numerical small armies such as a Deathwing force, watch those small units die! Keep them safe. When to use them: The most important question of all. If you are planning to defend a lot, then don't bother with them. You are better off with a fire-support dread. If you don't expect much Close Combat action (ie your miles apart), don't use them. If there isn't much cover or you aren't using flank attack tatics don't use them. Furioso dread's are one of the most offensive units in the game, and are useless in defence, even as a counter-charge unit. They are very specialised units and some players will just find them expensive paperweights. You have to very careful on when to take them. Most of the time, you'll be probably be better of taking a standard dread. However if you need a punch to your assaults, don't forget them! The Tactica Imperium ~ TheAngelR
