A few of our bravest...

A Scout Veteran Sergeant w/ plasma pistol and power weapon. That plasma pistol has dropped an Eldar Falcon before, and that purity seal there is for a valiant rescue mission where he was the first to reach the hostage.

My first Scout Veteran Sergeant, this fellow has led more scout squads into assaults than anyone can recall!

One of our Scout Snipers - only their shoulderpads reveal them to be Blood Angels in training.

Tactical Squad 1 Veteran Sergeant Casca - with an instinct for battle that many Blood Angels far his elder have yet to attain, Brother Casca could have any assignment he wishes, yet he chooses to remain the Veteran Sergeant of Tac Squad 1. He has been awarded the more ornate veteran skull shoulderpad for his seemingly timeless service, and also his chapter marking shoulderpad is in 3d relief as well. His squad in the game is often supernaturally lucky it seems, and he so often finds a way to survive when many around him fall. The number of assaults he has led are countless. Whether assaulting the enemy or reducing them through precision bolter drill Tac Squad 1 is very fortunate to have Veteran Sergeant Casca leading them into battle.

A seemingly bad tempered Tactical Marine from Tac Squad 5 (see the squad marking there on his left leg inside the black blooddrop). The Marines in Tac Squads 4, 5 and 6 have quite a bit of attitude as the Marines from Tac Squads 1, 2 and 3 are deployed for assault support roles more often - but anyone in Tac Squad 4, 5 or 6 will quickly remind you of the value of massed bolter fire and the general use of Tactical Squads in the classic fire support role - and I for one am not about to argue with them :-)

One of my very first Blood Angels - the right knee with the single red blooddrop is the mark of my original squad of Blood Angels. Having been around that long I really wonder how many times he's fought!

Veteran Sergeant Zuriel from Tac Squad 1 - again this is one of my very first minis (the single blooddrop on the kneepad is only on my first group of Blood Angels). Most of the time my Veteran Sergeants are geared up for assaults - but sometimes a bolter is the best tool for the job. This mini established the rule that all leaders of Veteran Sergeant rank and above (except scouts) should have a Blood Angel banner for rapid identification on the battlefield.

Tactical Squad 2 Veteran Sergeant Averius - equipped here with power weapon, Averious often leads 2nd Tac Squad in assaults which support the primary assault units. Averious has triumphed through many battles, and distinguished himself in several - note the custom purity seals on the belt and right shoulder - those are only awarded for outstanding performance in a game :-)

Veteran Sergeant Malagant: Veteran Assault Squad 2 - With jumppack, power weapon and bolt pistol this Veteran Sergeant has led MANY assaults againt the enemies of the Emperor. That right arm was twiddled a bit to get the perfect angle - but sighting straight down his arm in this fashion leaves no doubt that he is focused on the job at hand - slaying the enemies of mankind. Veteran Assault Squads often see the very worst of the fighting
(at least in my battles).
