 Blood Angel Turn 1

Movement
Movement wasn't terribly complicated - I moved the far Tac Squad out of their bunker so they could come support their brothers, the only question was would the fight last long enough for them to get there and  make a difference?

Firing

Well the Whirlwind let loose with a volley of missiles,

which landed terribly off target... an eager Imperial Guard Commisar was even heard to yell "run toward the explosions boys!" ... oh the humanity...

Well the tac squad and the Death Company both poured as much fire as they could into that Sentinal - for they all knew that if the Death Company got tied up in close combat with that thing they'd miss the real fight... so fire on it they did... and they managed to blow off the multilaser...woohoo!

Assault

the Sentinal squished one Death Company Marine - Death Company stunned the Sentinal (so he couldn't attack in his next turn - whoohoo!)

end of Blood Angels turn 1 - sweet Emperor preserve us! :-)

 Imperial Guard Turn 2

With a roar, the entire Guard firing line took their Commisars cry to heart and ran straight towards the Blood Angels lines.  The Deathworld assault team continued their push deep into enemy territory supported by a Sentinal and closely followed by the aroured fist squad in the chimera.  Both the sentinal and the chimera opened fire on the whirlwind lurking behind the building and managed to destroy both its multi launcher and stormbolter in a flurry of las fire.

The sentinal on the right flank broke cover and sprinted towards the gun emplacement in front of it mowing down a few marines on the way.  And of course we can't forget the Hardened Veterens stealthily creeping along doing their best to stay uninvolved.....you don't stay alive long in the Guard for nothing!!!

Meanwhile the raving lunatics otherwise known as the Death Company ran screaming at the second sentinal and the deathworld assault team waving the bits and pieces that were all that remained of the first sentinal.

Blood Angel Turn 2
Reinforcements:  A Typhoon pattern Landspeeder screams onto the field taking cover behind a stand of trees.  The Veteren Assault boys are finishing up a compelling episode of  "Oprah" and can't be bothered.

Movement
The tac squad on the far right flank continues it's long march to action and the Whirlwind burns a little more....that about sums it up.

Assault
We killed the Sentinal - which exploded with a blast radius of six inches - killing several Death Company (but amazingly the Deathworld veterans came out without a scratch!) some of them were heard to mutter "wow - I'm glad those Death Company guys are so beefy! If they hadn't been here that blast would've gotten all of us!".... oh the humanity...

So after this explosion we resolved the rest of the combat (the Death Company trashed the Deathworld veterans) and the Death Company swept forward to the nearby Rhino/Chimera...

thus endeth a rather strange Blood Angel turn...

 Imperial Guard Turn 3

First there was movement (the whole IG army ran forward)... including that Chimera which the Death Company had been about to pound on... with the chimera gone however - it left only a slightly disoriented Death Company standing in the open before a Leman Russ...

then the shooting began...

and yes - that hurt... a lot... One member of the Death Company survived...

Assault

The Sentinal from the center of the board ran around to assault the sole survivor of the center tac squad.

The sole survivor of the Death Company is assaulted by Ogryns - and remarkably survives their assault!

end of Imperial Guard Turn 3
