Lord Dante
Chapter Master of the Blood Angels

I waited to paint Lord Dante until I had a full 2000pt army for him to command - and even then I didn't assemble and paint Dante until all 2000pts were totally fit for inspection. As my army grew so did my eye for painting detail (hey everyone gets better with practice!) and so I tried to keep our Chapter Master looking as regal and powerful as he should - at least as well as I could make him :-) This mini is the result, I'm really happy with him :-)

So far Lord Dante has only fought in one of our actions here - a grand assault on a heavily entrenched Imperial Guard army (see the photo below!) in which Lord Dante was nothing short of amazing. One of the opening salvoes saw a battle cannon round explode right on Dante and his Honor Guard, Lord Dante was unharmed, however all but one of the Honor Guard died (the one with the Blood Angels banner survived). Lord Dante raced forward into the fighting - helping the Chaplain with a well placed shot which vaporised a rebel Commisar, and then easily dispatching several enemy who were obviously in the wrong place at the wrong time! As you can see Lord Dante was not alone in the assault - but he was very much at the front! Aside from this special occassion battle though, so far we let our local officers handle the fighting, we would not wish to trouble Lord Dante with anything but the most serious engagements!
