Issues protection of Sea Turtles wetlands protection/preservation shrimping issues oil refinery air/water polution Wetland Restoration, Enhancement, and Creation in the Corpus Christi/Nueces Bay Area The objective of this EPA-funded project was to identify and evaluate potential sites for wetlands restoration, enhancement, or creation projects and develop plans for selected sites representative of wetland categories in the Corpus Christi/Nueces Bay area. Corpus Christi Bay National Estuary Program The Corpus Christi Bay National Estuary Program (CCBNEP) is a four-year, community based effort to identify the problems facing the bays and estuaries of the Coastal Bend, and to develop a long-range, Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. The Program's fundamental purpose is to protect, restore, or enhance the quality of water, sediments, and living resources found within the 600 square mile estuarine portion of the study area. ![]() ![]() SPECIES AT RISK IN THE GULF OF MEXICO A cooperative program between the US Gulf of Mexico Program and the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory Museum. Work contained herein resulted from a workshop to identify potentially endangered species in the Gulf of Mexico and to identify research needs for these species. WetNet The goal of the Texas Wetland Information Network (WetNet) project is to allow easier access to online wetland-related information. Funded by a grant from the Wetland Office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 6, WetNet will enhance the wetland protection capabilities of state and federal regulatory agencies operating in Texas, and will provide accurate and up-to-date information to local governments, universities, and the general public. ![]() Texas A&M University Corpus Christi The Island University Our local university - with many programs for marine biology and wildlife conservation. |
