About the Artist all the art and images from DRS are the works of dragon artist Edward Wickes Hello there : ) It's all about bringing inspiring imaginations, and hopefully bringing a little bit of magic back into the world. I've always tried to keep an open mind, to see the wonderment in the world which is all around us. I do cherish this world of ours very much. Perhaps that's at the core of what I do - for it does upset me to see others running their daily lives without even so much as an upward glance - so engrossed in the daily grind that they can't see things around them. That's where the dragons come in. I made the first dragons purely to free something inside me. Then I was really surprised to hear what others thought of them - people were actually stunned - something about these creations of mine gave them pause for thought, and for that brief moment I had taken them away from their lives, and into a world where there are still new things to be seen. That's what it's all about really. The shock quality of dragons - the frightening claws, the fierce gaze and their magnificent leathern wings - can stun people for a moment, take them off balance and perhaps open their eyes to look upon the nature that is around us with something of a new reverence. I will continue as long as I can. My dragons gave rise to Dragon Realm Studios. They will be with me always, and I will share them with you as much as I can. For a time I tried to make dragons for everyone. I set up a large studio and had two artists working for me, but somewhere in the process I felt some of the "magic" was being lost and I decided to return to my roots. So these days I'm working alone again. I am free to create whatever sorts of dragons I dream of, and accept a few custom requests from collectors. I must be going now - there's a whole universe in my mind that I want to share with you, and if I'm ever going to get even part of it out - I'd better get working on it right now. : ) ~ Edward Wickes - dragon artist

About the Studio Dragon Realm Studios is an online (and real world) art studio dedicated to creating dragons and dragon art of the highest calibre. We opened in January of '97, and have been sending dragons out into the world in one fashion or another ever since! Currently we offer a few poseable dragons to collectors via our website, and we get orders from all over the world from collectors wishing to add our fully poseable dragons to their collections. Recently we have begun to accept a few requests for custom dragons, and have enjoyed very much the new challenges they offer - this may become a larger facet of DRS in time.
